Paulanie Wijaya

Paulanie joined Assegaf Hamzah & Partners’ corporate commercial practice in 2010, having previously sharpened her legal and advocacy skills as an associate at a boutique litigation firm in Jakarta, where she was involved in a number of complex commercial and corporate mandates involving both domestic and international clients.


In her career to date, Paulanie has amassed considerable experience and expertise as a commercial lawyer having, among other things, served on the litigation team that represented Carrefour in antitrust proceedings brought by the KPPU in 2009, and participated in national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia’s USD 382.8 million IPO in 2011, the first ever by an Indonesian airline. In addition, she played a key role in Berau Coal’s USD 152.3 million IPO in 2010. She is currently working on the proposed IPO of a major palm plantation company.


Paulanie holds a bachelor of law degree, majoring in business law, from Pelita Harapan University, and an advocate's professional training certificate from the Indonesian Bar Association (Peradi). During her time at college, she participated in various moot court competitions, for which she received awards from Pelita Harapan University and Trisakti University.


Paulanie loves learning about new cultures, and in particular the approaches applied by different cultures to crime and punishment. She is also an avid sportswoman, and is especially keen on futsal, badminton, and swimming.
