Muhammad Kamal Fikri

Prior to joining Assegaf Hamzah & Partners in 2008, Kamal gained invaluable experience of the workings of the legal system as a reporter with hukumonline.com, a well-known online legal journal that covers national issues from the legal perspective.

As a key member of AHP’s team of litigators, Kamal has played a significant role in many of the civil, criminal and commercial cases handled by the firm in recent years, appearing in both the courts and before arbitration tribunals. Apart from his litigation experience, he has also amassed considerable expertise working on a wide range of high-profile corporate transactions, such as bond issuances, financing deals and debt restructurings for clients operating in the telecommunications, mining, and banking sectors.

Kamal holds a bachelor of law degree from Trisakti University in Jakarta, and an advocate’s professional training certificate. During his time at Trisakti, he was selected to serve as an exchange student at Erasmus University, Rotterdam, the Netherlands. A practicing advocate, Kamal is an active member of the Indonesian Bar Association (Peradi).

On those rare occasions when he is not hard at work in the office, Kamal, an accomplished diver, enjoys getting away from it all by exploring Indonesia’s wonderful tropical reefs.
