Muhammad Iqsan Sirie
Iqsan commenced his career in the law as editor-in-chief of the English-language service of www.hukumonline.com, Indonesia’s best-known legal website and online publisher. He joined Assegaf Hamzah & Partners in October 2010, where the experience of comparative law and international legal developments that he gained at hukumonline have proved invaluable.
In his practice at AHP, Iqsan specializes in general corporate work, with his primary focus being on mergers and acquisitions, and direct foreign investment. He has proved himself a skilled and innovative legal draftsman, and is popular among clients for his attention not just to the legal implications, but also the commercial aspects of transactions.
Iqsan graduated with a bachelor of law degree from Padjadjaran University, Bandung, in 2009. While in law school, he spent a year in Cambridge, England, where he studied legal English and English literature. He was also an active participant in mooting, and in 2008 was named one of the top five speakers in the Indonesian round of the Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition.
