Maraya Novarazka
Maraya is a recent addition to the Assegaf Hamzah & Partners’ team, having joined the firm in 2010 after serving a brief internship with another top-tier Jakarta law firm. With her innate legal intuition and capacity for hard work, she looks set for a very promising career in the law.
Since joining AHP, Maraya has focused her practice on capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate and debt restructurings, and to date has gained invaluable insights into the complexities of commercial law and business practice through her work on a number of significant mandates, including the USD 382.8 million IPO by PT Garuda Indonesia, Indonesia’s national flag carrier, in 2011, which marked the first ever public offering by an Indonesian airline, and the USD 11 billion PT Bank Mandiri rights issue in 2010 (Indonesia’s second biggest offering that year). She is currently working on a proposed major acquisition by an aviation services company.
Maraya holds a bachelor of law degree from the University of Indonesia (2010), and was the youngest student to graduate in her class. While at law school, she was an active participant in student activities and societies, including as a member of the Law Faculty Students’ Union. She was also a member of the Business Law Society and the Asian law Students Association. She served a 3-month internship at the Indonesia Stock Exchange while still in law school.
Very much an outdoors person, Maraya is a passionate devotee of swimming and badminton, which she says help clear her mind and keep her in tip-top shape for the challenges of her work.
