Ibrahim Sjarief Assegaf

 Ibrahim joined AHP in 2009. Previously he served as director in an online Indonesian legal publisher, while also active in several law reform initiates, including serving as advisor to a law reform program funded by Australian Government and to the Indonesian Supreme Court. Prior to those experiences, Ibrahim was an associate at Hadiputranto, Hadinoto & Partners, in which he was involved in capital market, mergers and acquisition, banking and finance and debt restructuring transactions.

 Ibrahim has extensive experience in banking and finance, in which he represented foreign banks and drafted or advised on loan and security documents in relation to loan facilities to Indonesian borrowers. In addition, Ibrahim has advised and represented clients in relation to bankruptcy/debt restructuring of Indonesian borrowers. Recently Ibrahim is involved in the acquisition of Berau Coal, proposed joint ventures in a geothermal power plant in Indonesia in addition to several merger and acquisition and debt restructuring transactions involving mining and finance companies.

 

Having obtained under graduate law degree from University of Indonesia, Ibrahim was subsequently invited as research scholar at East Asia Law Studies, Harvard Law School in 2002-2003. Recently Ibrahim completed his LLM from University of Melbourne, Australia.

 

Ibrahim has also published several articles in national and international publications. He serves as board members in several foundations, such as Reefcheck Indonesia & Yayasan Studi Hukum Indonesia.
